Why You Should Care About Plastic Pollution in 120 Words

Every minute the equivalent of a truck load of plastic enters our oceans. Plastic has been found in nearly every place on the planet - from the summit of Mount Everest to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

One in three fish caught caught for consumption in the English Channel contains plastic and we eat the equivalent of one credit card of plastic each week. We don't yet fully understand the health effects plastic consumption has on us. So far, research has linked plastic ingestion to a range of issues, such as cancer and birth defects. Additionally, millions of animals die annually through plastic pollution. 

Yet, there are simple and easy ways to reduce the amount of plastic we use.
